Voltron Holiday 2018 Meme



Pick a prompt and go nuts! Open to any and all, gen or shipping. Hell, doesn't even have to be with Keith, tag anyone!

1. Decorating the space. Whether it's a Garrison dorm, someone's home living room, or inside a Lion, decorating for the holidays is important to get into the spirit! Put up the lights, pin up the wreath, hang the stockings, and toss the tinsel. Someone may need a hand making sure the tree is straight or getting the holiday squidelbyu on the top of the tree. Maybe it takes two to get those lights up. Either way, there's plenty to be done.
2. Baking the goodies. Is it really the holidays without cookies and cakes? Every chef needs an assistant, and whoever's in the kitchen will need a hand. Pass the whisk, help beat the eggs, or get the sauce ready for the holiday ham. The kitchen is filled with the smells of Christmas.
3. Wrapping presents. Listen, someone has to do the task of wrapping gifts and not everyone is good at it. Come comment on the questionable wrapping job, help handle larger gifts bigger than Kosmo, or just pass along pieces of tape. Just don't peek at your own!
4. Down time for quiet. Maybe it's the quiet warmth of the fireplace and a blanket. Perhaps it's walking down the snow-covered street. Sometimes the holidays is just spending a quiet evening with the people you love, whether it's friends or family or a special someone. There's always a quiet nook to cuddle in, to settle in for the night. Settle down in front of the fireplace, spend a little time under the mistletoe at the Christmas party, or watch the Christmas lights outside in the neighborhood.
5. Christmas morning Hey wake up! Hey! Hey wake up, it's Christmas! Gather round and open the gifts! Share the love, watch the old timey stop motion holiday movies (or those cheesy Hallmark romance whatever works). Sit down for the big holiday dinner with everyone at the table and pass the gravy. Whatever happens on Christmas day, at least it's being done together.

I, um, I need to make a trip to the space mall and was wondering if you'd like to join me? Everyone else is kinda busy, and well, I also thought it'd be nice to have some time alone with you.

Nah, you're actually saving me from is looking over diagnostic reports. The sweater looks really good on you. Are we getting you excited for Christmas? Allura and Coran seem to be on board with it. I've been wondering what you think of it so far.

[Holidays are weird and he doesn't like it, but he loves his family so. He's looking for Hunk to try and not feel *entirely* alone, and he's... always really enjoyed Hunk's company. He pokes his head around the living room, taking note of the lights and decorations. He'll never get used to this.] Hunk? You... busy?

[Oh. He blinks at that, then calls for the training floor to turn the robot off.] Yeah, I can help. Let's go. [Nevermind he's sweaty and smelly from training. Who cares right no one will notice.]

[ So the entire Garrison is getting fresh, alien-made cookies. Congrats, everyone.

Her smile softens. ] I am. It's so bright and colorful. But I like the atmosphere most of all. Everyone seems so much more open and cheerful. I mean, "merry."

It's also the first really big celebration I have been part of in a long time.

[While Keith might find the holidays weird, and a bit stressful, Hunk revels in them. He loves spending time with his friends and family, enjoying traditions both new and old. This year he's thrilled to be spending them with the special person he cares about so much.

Hearing his name being called, Hunk looks up from the plate of goodies he's put together. Flashing Keith a smile, he gives a nod of his head to indicate Keith should join him.]

If by busy you count enjoying more holiday snacks than I can handle? Then I'm totally swamped. Although, I'm sure I can squeeze you in between the crescent roll and egg custard tart. What's up?

[Keith hates this holiday but other people love it. And he knows from experience that Matt really loves it. Horrible ugly sweater and all. Keith gets in the same room and the sweater gives him a headache, but he tosses a box of lights to him.] Hey - come help.

[Hey, Colleen, do you remember the kid Matt told you about? That just lives at the Garrison because he doesn't have a home? Or a family? Or anyone? He's here, he's on the couch being Leader of Voltron and the Blades, and going through his messages for anything important. Not at all holiday spirit.]

[Matt turns and fumbles the lights, somehow eventually catching the box with a deep blush.]

Got it. Um. Where do you want me? Er... where do you want the lights?

[Well now he smiles, a rare sight.]

I know. I'm glad you're able to be here for it.

[Keith leans back against the counter watching her.] I know everyone else is glad you're here for this too.

[Well. Something about Hunk always being happy to hang with him just makes his ears go a little pink.] Nothing, just... Trying to find something to do. Or what I should be doing. [Everyone has already taken care of everything and he was told to relax. He's bad at that.]

[Colleen sits down beside him with a wrapped package on her lap and a gentle smile on her face.]

I've heard a lot about you. Matt and Pidge both think you're pretty awesome, not to mention Sam.

['Where do you want me' has his brow go up quite a bit but he smirks.] Around the stairs and outside. Need a second hand.

[Oh no, a mom. Not just any mom, but Matt and Pidge's mom. He's tasted her baking and some of her cooking back when they were all dorm mates. He still holds his tablet in hand and doesn't put it down even when Colleen speaks up.] Uh.. Yeah, I'm Keith. I've.. Been friend with Matt for a long time so... [God she probably knows that. Shit. He's bad at this.] You... doing okay?

[He leans down to put his boots on, and then he's following Keith, ready to help with whatever.]

Who's planning all of this anyway? The decorations, I mean.

[She takes the package and puts it in his lap. Inside, when he opens it, is a black-and-purple striped sweater in a very warm, soft yarn.]

That's for you. Not too flashy, but something to stay warm in.

Not sure. I just know I was told what I was doing and I can't do it alone. [Well. He probably could but it'd take hours longer than if he has help.]

She knocks, then remembers to ring the bell. ]

[Oh. Now his ears are a little pink.] Me? Why- Why me? [Why would anyone want to spend time with him outside of Voltron duties?]

[He looks down at the sweater once the box is open. He... hasn't gotten a Christmas gift since his father died. He looks up at her a little bewildered.] ...Thank you? I... didn't get anything for you. I'm sorry.

I know Christmas is hard when you've been alone for a number of them, so I just want you to know that people do care, and you're always welcome at our home.

[The first sound inside is the scuffle and barking of a dog, then Colleen's voice telling him to shush.

She opens the door, then smiles widely.]
