2018 CHRISTMAS

Pick a prompt and go nuts! Open to any and all, gen or shipping. Hell, doesn't even have to be with Keith, tag anyone!
1. Decorating the space. Whether it's a Garrison dorm, someone's home living room, or inside a Lion, decorating for the holidays is important to get into the spirit! Put up the lights, pin up the wreath, hang the stockings, and toss the tinsel. Someone may need a hand making sure the tree is straight or getting the holiday squidelbyu on the top of the tree. Maybe it takes two to get those lights up. Either way, there's plenty to be done.
2. Baking the goodies. Is it really the holidays without cookies and cakes? Every chef needs an assistant, and whoever's in the kitchen will need a hand. Pass the whisk, help beat the eggs, or get the sauce ready for the holiday ham. The kitchen is filled with the smells of Christmas.
3. Wrapping presents. Listen, someone has to do the task of wrapping gifts and not everyone is good at it. Come comment on the questionable wrapping job, help handle larger gifts bigger than Kosmo, or just pass along pieces of tape. Just don't peek at your own!
4. Down time for quiet. Maybe it's the quiet warmth of the fireplace and a blanket. Perhaps it's walking down the snow-covered street. Sometimes the holidays is just spending a quiet evening with the people you love, whether it's friends or family or a special someone. There's always a quiet nook to cuddle in, to settle in for the night. Settle down in front of the fireplace, spend a little time under the mistletoe at the Christmas party, or watch the Christmas lights outside in the neighborhood.
5. Christmas morning Hey wake up! Hey! Hey wake up, it's Christmas! Gather round and open the gifts! Share the love, watch the old timey stop motion holiday movies (or those cheesy Hallmark romance whatever works). Sit down for the big holiday dinner with everyone at the table and pass the gravy. Whatever happens on Christmas day, at least it's being done together.

My scissors. I keep-- [ She finds the scissors under a piece of scrap paper. ] -- ah! Found them.
no subject
[She probably has -- she's not dumb.]
Need some help?
no subject
[ Her dorm is a bit too small for the number and size of presents she's trying to wrap.
Romelle perks up. ]
I would greatly appreciate it.
no subject
[But he'll step all the way inside, anyway, and settle down cross-legged apart from her.]
What can I do?
no subject
Could you demonstrate how to do it? On this?
[ She holds out a rolled-up scarf, clearly handmade and clearly made with some ancient Altean knotwork. ]
no subject
[He nods, reaching for some paper... and then stops, looking at the offered scarf.]
That's -- Romelle that's beautiful. You made it?
no subject
[ If only someone told her about craft aprons.
She smiles, a little bashful. ]
I did. There wasn't enough time to do any complex stitching, though.
[ Yeah, it gets even more complex than the intricate knot-work she has going now. ]
no subject
[That seems like it'd work. Right?]
[She may be bashful, but he looks incredibly proud.]
It's amazing! You should be proud of this.

[ She leans over and digs through a pile until she finds the Garrison uniform jacket they'd given her. She shrugs it on and puts the scissors in her pocket.
Romelle seems taken aback by the praise. ]
Everyone on the colony learned how to do this. I'm hardly special.
no subject
[Sorry, Romelle. You're part of this weird space family now. So you're going to get the same praise as anyone else.]
It's special, because it's from you. You made this for someone else.
no subject
I... suppose. But you've all done a lot for me. A scarf is hardly the same.
no subject
It's a gift. A gift you made. That's good enough, for a lot of us.
no subject
It's for Coran. He's... quite difficult to shop for, so I hoped something traditional...
[ Something Altean. A reminder that their culture isn't lost. ]
no subject
That's perfect for him. He's going to love it.
[Accept the praise, honey, he's not going to stop any time soon.]
no subject
I have to wrap it first.
no subject
Did you grab any of those?
