the stars had whispered to her. "your new enemy seeks great power from a place you cannot reach," they had told her.

"what can I do?" she had pleaded.

"we will guide you," came the gentle answer.

the silhouette of someone she couldn't quite recall had shone brilliantly for a moment against the sea of stars, and then

she fell.

it hadn't been unpleasant. more like...sinking into deep water than falling. it felt like an instant and an eternity before she opened her eyes...to find herself in a strange city. most buildings are domed - she doesn't know of a city with this unique architecture.
